Usher Anthony Robertson was a blessing to our Church. He initially visited our Church as a visitor of Deacon McCoy, but he quickly became a member of our family. We were amazed when Brother Anthony immediately began helping us clean the building before and after services. Anthony also worked tireless hours and many Saturdays on the Hurricane Restoration projects around the Church campus.
Anthony also loved to prepare grocery bags for our Deacon's Food Pantry and pass them out to the less fortunate. For example, when everyone else had schedule conflicts, Deacon McCoy and Usher Anthony passed out over 42 loaves of bread to low income families on Friday, October 25, 2019, just a few days before his birthday! As a result of his faithfulness, dedication, and love for the Church, Anthony Robertson was appointed to be the Lead Usher of Victory Christian Church on Sunday, October 27, 2019!
Usher Anthony Robertson transitioned from this life and progressed into the presence of the Lord on November 26, 2020. We miss him dearly but we rejoice when we think about his new home in heaven! Please keep his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers. We believe we will see Anthony Robertson on the other side! In Jesus name! Amen!

Now that Christmas 2020 has concluded, you can still experience joy during all of 2021 by giving a gift that will never be unappreciated. What kind of gift you ask? The answer is food! Consuming food is the one thing that both the rich and the poor have in common. The difference is how well the gift of food will be appreciated by those that are less fortunate than you.
We ask for your prayers as we answer God's call to distribute food from our Deacon's Food Pantry to families that are less fortunate. On Saturday, December 12, 2020, we passed out 58 bags of groceries to two apartment complexes in the city of Port Arthur, Texas. On Saturday, December 19, 2020, we passed out 74 bags of groceries. Also on Christmas eve, December 24, 2020 we passed out 70 bags of groceries and 21 loaves of bread.
What about you? Will you help us in 2021? It will give you great joy knowing that someone in Southeast Texas will eat tonight because of you. If you're not sure how to begin, allow me to make a few suggestions:
1. Mail a $10 or more grocery store gift card to Victory Christian Church 5101 6th street Port Arthur, Texas 77642.
2. Ask a grocery store in your area to consider sending us non-perishable food items.
3. Send a donation to Victory Christian Church via our PayPal link on this page and allow us to use some of the funds for our Deacon's Food Pantry!
You can choose whatever method is easier for you. The most important thing for you to do is act now! We are ready to pass out what you provide! Just remember, the best gift you can give a family is something for their tummy! Think about it...
Be a blessing and you will be blessed. .. Have a blessed New Year 2021! Love, Pastor K
During the month January 2021 we will pray for hungry children to be fed in Jesus name!
Question of the month: What does the Bible say about helping those that are less fortunate than you? The answer is "a lot" but Matthew 25 contains one of my favorite verses concerning helping those in need.
Matthew 25:34 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’
37 “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? 38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? 39 Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ 40 And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’
The outreach ministries at Victory Christian Church is based largely on this passage of scripture. For example, for the last 20 years, I have written letters to men in prison. As a Pastor I have visited both members and non-members who were sick in the hospital or at their homes. It has also been our practice to donate clothes that we don't use to organizations that collect clothing. And last but not least is the success of our Deacon's Food Pantry! Nothing gives us more joy at our Church than passing out food to needy families. I believe the best sermon I have ever preached was not in the pulpit. It was at the open door that I had just knocked on. The sermon goes something like this: "Good morning, its the Pastor from Victory Christian Church! I have some food items for you! God bless you!" (I get chills just thinking about moments like this).
If you have not made a resolution this year, then I have a challenge for you during this new year of our Lord's 2021. Make it your goal to either donate food to a needy family, or help someone find a place to live, or visit a sick or elderly person, or write a letter or send an email message to someone you know that is incarcerated. If you do one of these things at least once this year, it will be the best sermon you can ever preach. Think about it....
Happy New Year - in Jesus name! Sincerely, - Pastor K
Psalm 51:1 Have mercy upon me, O God, According to Your lovingkindness;
According to the multitude of Your tender mercies, Blot out my transgressions.
2 Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, And cleanse me from my sin.
James 1:19 So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; 20 for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.
