Victory is on the move! I have never been more optimistic about the potential of our Church! Not because we are the largest Church intown, or because we have the largest budget in the land, I'm excited because we serve a mighty God who loves our Church!
The Bible says, "1 Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." I am excited because all we need to do to experience our personal victory is to go through the "gate" or the "door" of Christ! This means accepting Him as your personal Lord and Savior!
Last week I preached a "Mother's Day" message called "A Mother is always covered"! I used the following scriptures as the main text for the message:
John 19:25 Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene. 26 When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son! 27 Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.
I am amazed at the way Jesus, while suffering on the cross, took the time to look at His mother, and make sure she was covered! Imagine the pain and agony and love He felt all at the same time! Is Jesus can care for us while enduring great pain, then there is nothing He won't do for all of us who live to serve Him! Think about it!
Victory today is yours!
During the month April 2019 we will pray for cancer patients everywhere to be healed!
May 2019 Question of the month!
I am trying to be a Christian but it is too hard! What should I do?
If you are trying "hard" to be a Christian, the first thing I recommend is don't try, just accept! Just accept the fact that you are a sinner that can be saved by the grace of God. Just accept the fact that (according to John 3:16) God loves the world (and you) so much that He gave us His Son (Jesus) to be the perfect "Christian" for us! Just accept the fact the if you join the Church and accept Christ as you Savior, you are a "new creation" (according to 2 Corinthians 5:17). Just accept the fact that even though we are sinners, Christ died for us (according to Romans 5:8). So don't try "harder" to be a Christian. Try to be a better father, or mother, or sister, or brother, or co-worker, or classmate, or whatever; by trying to be more like Jesus Christ!
Psalm 34:1 I will bless the Lord at all times;
His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
2 My soul shall make its boast in the Lord;
The humble shall hear of it and be glad.
3 Oh, magnify the Lord with me,
And let us exalt His name together.
1 Corinthians 3:9 For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building.
