On Saturday, June 8, 2019, Deacon McCoy, Brother Curtis, and I passed out 34 bags of groceries to our neighbors. We loaded the bags of can goods and other items in the back of Deacon' s truck and then we headed to the corner of 7th and Duff Street. Then we worked our way to Proctor street, turned right, and knocked on doors. We passed out food until we ran out of bags. We plan to collect more can goods and do this again during the month of July!
Matthew 25:35 says, "for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in;".
We need your help. Can you send can goods and non-perishable items to our Church for this important work? Or can you join us in July and help us pass out food? Or can you give us a $50.00 donation via our PayPal link so that we can but the food for distribution? (50 is the number for Pentecost). Finally, can you pray for us as we answer the call to "feed the hungry"? We appreciate anything you can do to help us help others. Thank you!
Victory today is yours!
During the month June 2019 we will pray for un-Churched people to go to a Bible-based Church (like ours) next Sunday!
June 2019 Question of the month coming soon:
Is water Baptism necessary in order for me to be saved from sin, suffering, and eternal death?
According to the Bible, the answer is "No, there is a little more you have to do to be saved". I always teach Bible believers that "Baptism is the inward expression of the outward confession". This means we are saved when we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, and we believe that He rose for the dead, to save us from our sins. Then we submit ourselves to a public water Baptism ceremony to show our family, friends, and other witnesses that we have made this confession.
Many years ago, at the age of 12, I walked up to my Pastor, Reverend Reynolds, and I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. (I did not realize at the time that this was my "Spiritual" rebirth). Then the Church scheduled me for a water Baptism ceremony. The water Baptism symbolized the death of the "old me" and the rebirth and new life of the "new me"! While I was "Baptized" I was literally telling the witnesses that I repent of my sins, and that I want to live a new life in Christ.
The Bible says, in Matthew 3:4 Now John himself was clothed in camel’s hair, with a leather belt around his waist; and his food was locusts and wild honey. 5 Then Jerusalem, all Judea, and all the region around the Jordan went out to him 6 and were baptized by him in the Jordan, confessing their sins.
Jesus said in Matthew 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
John 3:5 says, "Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God."
Acts 2:38 says, "Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."
So is Baptism necessary? Well it is vitally important. If fact Jesus himself was "Baptized" by John, his cousin. So if you want to be more like Jesus, then yes, it is necessary. If you're not "Baptized" will it keep you out of Heaven? Well, why take that chance? Why not submit yourself to Baptism as soon as you accept Jesus and your Savior. Then there would be no reason to doubt.
So be blessed for "Baptism" success! - Victory today is yours!
Psalm 33:1 Rejoice in the Lord, O you righteous!
For praise from the upright is beautiful.
2 Praise the Lord with the harp;
Make melody to Him with an instrument of ten strings.
3 Sing to Him a new song;
Play skillfully with a shout of joy.
4 For the word of the Lord is right,
And all His work is done in truth.
5 He loves righteousness and justice;
The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.
Mark 2:5 When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven you.”
