Last Sunday I preached a message I titled, "Can God get, and little bit, of your time"? The most precious thing we have is time, and the only thing that we are not sure of how much we have, … is time! Don't waste it!
Jesus often separated himself from others to pray and spend quality time with God. Here are two examples:
Luke 6:12 Now it came to pass in those days that He went out to the mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.
Mark 1:35 Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed. 36 And Simon and those who were with Him searched for Him. 37 When they found Him, they said to Him, “Everyone is looking for You.”
Jesus took time to get away from everyone and go to the mountain to pray and spend time with the Father. (1) He went by Himself. (2) He was known for going up to pray. (3) He continued all night. (4) He intentionally spent time with God!
We should be more like Jesus.
Here how you can spend more time with God:
1. Always attend Church
2. Always attend weekly Bible studies
3. Pray daily
4. Read your Bible daily
5. Minister, serve, or help someone else
Time is not promised. It should not be wasted. Since you reap what you sow, you show spend some time with the Father; so I’m wondering, …
Can God get, ... a little bit, ... of your time?
Victory today is yours!
During the month February 2019 we will pray for people who need housing!
Proverbs 24:3 (NKJV) Through wisdom a house is built, And by understanding it is established; 4 By knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches.
February 2019 Question of the month!
Why, …. do people have to die?
I know losing someone is a painful experience. I wish things could be different. But unfortunately we cant keep everyone we love on the earth with us forever. But many people want to know why people they care about had to die. It is a difficult question to answer, so I recommend you look at the following verses of the Bible as we ponder this question (using the New King James version of the Bible).
Romans 5:12 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned—
Genesis 3:19 In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread
Till you return to the ground,
For out of it you were taken;
For dust you are,
And to dust you shall return.”
Ezekiel 18:4 “Behold, all souls are Mine;
The soul of the father
As well as the soul of the son is Mine;
The soul who sins shall die.
So unfortunately people will eventually leave this earth as we know them and "die" because of sin; which is the willful disobedience to what God wants people to do. None of us know when or where this will happen, and there is no order for death. However, (thanks be to God); death is not the end of the story.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Revelation 21:4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”
So if we (and everyone we love) accept His Son (Jesus) as our savior, we have an amazing promise from God! We may leave our physical body one day, but we will live eternally with God! Also notice the interesting promise in Revelation 21:4! One day death itself - will die!
So I believe that we will see our loved ones again if we (and they), accept Jesus as Lord. I want to see my grandmother and great grandmother again on that great day. I want to see my son on that great day. What about you? Think about it!
Victory (over death) today is yours!
Genesis 1:1 (NKJV) In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Revelation 21 (NKJV) 1 Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. 2 Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. 4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”
