From the Desk of Pastor K
Victory Christian Church of Port Arthur, Texas
Dear Victory Family and Friends,
Grace and peace to you in the mighty name of Jesus!
Welcome to December 2025 — a month of both reflection and celebration as we honor loved ones, remember the faithfulness of God, and prepare our hearts for the coming of Christ. God is still moving in Victory Christian Church, and we are grateful to walk this journey together as a church family.
First, please join me in keeping the family of Sister Marilyn Brown in your prayers. We will honor her life at her homegoing ceremony on Saturday, December 6, 2025, in Arcola, Texas. Let’s surround her family with love, prayer, and support in this season.
Starting Sunday, December 7, 2025, we begin our four December Advent services. Each Sunday, we will focus on a different theme of the Advent season—Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love—as we prepare our hearts to celebrate the birth of our Savior. I encourage you to be in the house each Sunday, invite someone, and let’s journey through Advent together as a church family.
On Saturday, December 13, 2025, both the MOVE Men’s Ministry and the Women’s Fellowship will meet. This is a powerful time for men and women to grow, share, and encourage one another in Christ. Mark your calendars and make it a priority—God is building strong believers and strong families at Victory.
Our Deacons’ Food Pantry Distribution will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025. Thank you to every volunteer, donor, and prayer warrior who helps us serve families in need. This is a practical way we show the love of Jesus to our community. If you’d like to help pack, sort, or distribute, please let us know—we’d love to have you on the team.
On Sunday, December 21, 2025, get ready for our VCC Christmas Program presented by the Red Riders (Youth Team)! Come out and support our children and youth as they minister through songs, scripture, and creative presentations celebrating the birth of Jesus. Invite your family and friends—this is a wonderful time to encourage our young people and share the true meaning of Christmas.
Please note that there will be no Bible Study on Wednesday, December 24, 2025. We encourage you to enjoy this time with your families, reflect on the goodness of God, and share the love of Christ in your homes.
We will gather for a special Wednesday Night New Year’s Eve Service on December 31, 2025. Let’s come together to praise God for what He has done in 2025 and to pray, worship, and believe Him for greater things in 2026. More details will be announced, but please plan to join us and bring someone with you.
As always, we invite you to come early each Sunday at 10:30 AM for coffee and fellowship and stay for our 11:00 AM Worship Experience. You’ll find vibrant praise, a welcoming atmosphere, and a Word from God that will strengthen your faith.
Let’s stay united, stay faithful, and stay VICTORIOUS as we close out this year. Remember:
“But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
— 1 Corinthians 15:57
Victory Family, I love you, I’m praying for you, and I believe Victory Today is Yours!

“Victory Today is Yours!” – 1 Corinthians 15:57
In December 2025, our church-wide prayer focus is for 10 new families to come visit Victory Christian Church. We trust that God will draw them, and that they will experience His love and presence when they arrive. In Jesus’ name!
Q: Which Old Testament prophet foretold that the Messiah would be born of a virgin and called Immanuel, meaning “God with us”?
A: The prophet Isaiah declared this miraculous sign, revealing God’s promise to send a Savior who would dwell among His people.
Scripture Reference:
“Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.”
— Isaiah 7:14 (KJV)
Q: According to the Gospel of Luke, who brought the good news of Christ’s birth to the shepherds as they watched their flocks by night?
A: An angel of the Lord announced the Savior’s birth, and a heavenly host of angels praised God, proclaiming peace and goodwill toward men.
Scripture Reference:
“And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.”
— Luke 2:10–11 (KJV)
Good job! Victory Today is Yours!
Sincerely,
Pastor K
BIBLE VERSES OF THE MONTH!
Old Testament Verse of the Month – Micah 5:2 (KJV)
“But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah,
yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel;
whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.”
Think about this:
Christmas reminds us that God often chooses the smallest, quietest, and most unexpected places to reveal His greatest work. Bethlehem was overlooked by many, yet God selected it as the birthplace of the King of Kings. In the same way, God can bring greatness out of the humble, overlooked, and ordinary moments of your life. If God could bring the Savior out of Bethlehem, imagine what He can bring out of you. Nothing about your story is too small for God to use for something extraordinary.
New Testament Verse of the Month – Matthew 1:23 (KJV)
“Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel,
which being interpreted is, God with us.”
Think about this:
Christmas is the celebration of Emmanuel—God with us. Not far away. Not unreachable. Not distant. But with us in our joy, our pain, our uncertainty, and our everyday lives. The birth of Jesus is God’s declaration that He steps into our world and walks with us through every season. You are never alone. This month, let the reality of Emmanuel strengthen your heart, calm your fears, and fill you with hope. God is with you, right now, and that is the greatest gift of all.

Iron Sharpens Iron: Why Men Should Come to Victory
Real Brothers. Real Truth. Real Growth. No Games.
Scripture Reference (NKJV):
“Bear one another’s burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ.” — Galatians 6:2
Men are often told to be strong, stay silent, and carry everything alone. Many have walked away from church because of judgment, hypocrisy, gimmicks, or drama. But at Victory Christian Church, we don’t do any of that. No games. No gimmicks. No judgment. Just real brothers, real truth from the Bible, and real men striving for excellence.
God never intended for a man to walk through life isolated or overloaded. The word bear means to lift, support, and help carry what’s too heavy for one person alone. At Victory, you’ll find a circle of men who pray together, stand together, and make each other stronger—spiritually, mentally, and emotionally.
Proverbs 27:17 reminds us:
“As iron sharpens iron, So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.”
Iron cannot sharpen itself. It takes connection, contact, and commitment. That’s what we have here. Not perfection—but men pursuing it. Not pretenders—but brothers who show up, grow up, and rise up together.
Maybe you’ve been hurt by a church before. Maybe you’ve been told “men don’t need church.” Maybe you feel like the church isn’t for real men with real struggles.
But here’s the truth:
At Victory, you don’t have to fake good. You just have to show up.
If you need direction, encouragement, wisdom, strength, or simply a place where men speak life into each other—Victory is that place. Whether you’re a father, husband, student, grandfather, or a man trying to figure out your next step, we’ve got room for you.
Here, men don’t compete—we complete one another in Christ.
We sharpen each other. We lift each other. We grow together.
And we are becoming the men God created us to be.
Come as you are. Bring a brother, a co-worker, or a neighbor.
No judgment. No pressure. Just truth, growth, and brotherhood.
